Nov 13, The largest earthquake drills Will be held in the City of Los Angeles, millions of people will participate. participating in the ShakeOut Drill on Nov. 13, such as emergency response centers, schools, major businesses, and other institutions.

The goal of the earthquake, which is being spearheaded by the US Geological Survey (USGS) and the Caltech seismology department, is to develop disaster relief plans for the next big temblor, which many of the scientists involved say could measure as high as magnitude 7.8 on the Richter scale.

By planning ahead, these scientists may be able to team up with civil authorities across the Southland to prepare us for the worst situation — in which experts expect more than 2,000 deaths and 50,000 injuries. Such casualties come with a scenario of shaking that would last for nearly two minutes, with the strongest shocks occurring in the Coachella Valley, Inland Empire and Antelope Valley, since those are the closest regions to the fault. Other pockets of heavy damage would occur away from the fault, where sediments trap the waves in areas like the San Gabriel Valley and East Los Angeles.
